I have 10 peppermint shrimp in my 10 gallon and I see them all the time everytime. When I throw food anything that gets to the bottom is ravaged by the peppermint shrimp. They molt like crazy and are always visible for me. I know its a 10g but you should see them!

Good thing i found this post... I put a shrimp and left it in my new tank for a day or two. After reading this i immediately took it out ( i thought you were supposed to leave it in there and it would go away on its own) My Ammonia is 8.0 so time for a water change!

Oh yeah, all of this algae started to appear after I added calcium and chemicals to adjust KH. Before that I NEVER had any bit of algae in my tank.

I have had the tank up and running for 8 months now. I do know it is overstocked. My nitrates always stay between 10 and 20 so I dont know how the fish are affecting the algae from coming? I dont have a means to measure phosphate. I have some cyano on the side of the wall but I scraped it off...
