Windex is fine to use on the OUTSIDE, as long as you don't spray it near the tank. It is a chemical and will kill fish. Vinegar cleans tanks like magic!

I have acquired some info from many sources on here....especially when you ask if enough light and everyone says no....

I don't know for sure, because I'm still new to the whole lighting thing, but isn't it obvious that you don't have enough? That's just the conclusion I have come to, I apologize if I have come off negative at all.:)

Yes, that water is much cleaner than tap. Is your starfish ok? He might not make it with such high nitrates.
