I have recentley experienced a bloom of Green Hair Algae. I always use RO water and I know why I now have this problem. All of my fish died 2 weeks ago due to some dust that got into my tank during some home renovstions. I think the dead fish in the tank caused my phosphate levels to sky rocket...

It's dark green and it hairy. I realize that by doing large water changes and adding a phosphate reactor I can probably curb the problem. My question is are there any good products out there that can help? how do I get rid of the algae that is already on the rocks?

What can I do to get rid of the green algaeon the rocks? The sump wasn't cracked! Stupid me! I messed with the return line which loosened my bulkhead.

Guess what! the sump wasnt cracked! On eof my bulkheads were loose. At least I think thats what it was. I felt it and it was very wet and I was able to move it. I think it got loose because I was messing with the return line which is connected to it. I will wait and see.

I am not going to plum the UV sterlizer in with the rest of the system this time. I will just have it on a 400GPH pump circulating through a chiller and back into the sump.

I thought it was phosphates, I just checked and they are at .8.

I don't know what this is a sign of, but I have nasty green algae all over my rocks now and my sand is getting a brownish tint.

I had a pretty bad aiptasia problem. 2 weeks ago I used Joe Juice the stuff is amazing. It kills the aiptasia right away. I got rid of like 80% of them the first day, and every now and then when I see one I just inject it an it's gone in seconds.
