I considered using 45s instead, but I had clearance issues. Hopefully all the 90s won't put too much restriction on the flow. Ben

What types of caulerpas and algaes do you suggest I stock the refugium with. Do I really need a dsb in the refugium since I already have one in the main tank? I'll put some lr in so that the algae/caulerpa has something to stick to, but if I can get away with no dsb, I'd like to. Ben

What type of ligting do you current refugium-users suggest I put over mine? I don't want to spend over $100. Will regular fluorescents work, or should I use PCs? Thanks for the help. Ben

Juggernaut, I got the bioball chamber from my LFS. They had it lying around for a while and the price sticker came off, so when I was interested I just gave them a reasonable offer. The question I have is how deep in the water is the bioball chamber supposed to sit? 2-3 inches? Also, I've...

    Sump/Refuge DIY Pics!

Yeah, I'm lucky, no water bill here. Not til we build the house, then I'll be paying like everyone else. Thanks for all the praise, but I can't take the credit. I stole the sump/refuge part from Broomer, then added my own spraybar. I can't wait til I'm done and get it flowing. More pics to...

For those that painted the back black, what type of paint did you use? I'm thinking that when I switch my filtering from HOB to sump/refuge, I could paint the back quickly. Ben

For every three or four holes foreward, I plan on having one hole to either side or to the back. With the mag 12 I should be able to drill holes to my hearts content without effecting the flow too much. I will do as you suggested and have smaller holes at the top, and larger holes towards the...

So, you're saying that without the skimmer in the mag line, you had too much flow to the tank? If so, I'll probably have the same problem. Ben

    Sump/Refuge DIY Pics!

At first I'm going to use the mag solely for the return, which will be going to the main tank and also the refugium. I planned on at least 6 holes in each 'arm' of the pyramid, and if that is still too much current, then I will use the mag to power my remora pro. The pvc up to the pyramid is...
