    Sump/Refuge DIY Pics!

    1. The pyramid is my spraybar. That way I'll have current all the way from the top to the bottom, at the left, right, and center. It just doesn't have any holes in it right now. And it will be going inside the tank, but it will be virtually invisible with all the live rock that will be...

    Sump/Refuge DIY Pics!

Actually the holes are in the refugium, and I had a local glass service company drill them for $20. My plan is to have the skimmer in the refugium, and have the refugium overflow into the sump, which will also be fed by a trickle filter off one of the main tank overflows. Ben

    The Back of Your Tank?

Is yours painted, unpainted, cleaned regularly or kept natural? Mine is all natural. I've never cleaned it since my cycle. There are various types of algaes growing on the back, but none are offensive at all. This isn't bad, is it? So, how about yours? Ben

    RO/DI Drinkable--Solved

I had done a search and found that drinking DI water can leach vitamins/minerals from your body. Broomer had some really good scientific points. Smoking already leaches enough vitamins from my body, so I don't need the water I drink to do the same. Ben

    RO/DI Water Storage?

How should I store my filtered water, and how long can I safely store it? I have purchased some rubbermaid 32 gallon trash cans, and I am currently storing the water there. Can I just put the top on and store it that way, or should there be circulation and heat? Please help me out. Ben

    RO/DI Drinkable--Solved

After all the debate of drinking RO/DI water, I've come to a personal conclusion. For drinking water, remove the DI canister filter. Therefore, the water produced is only RO, which is perfectly safe for drinking. This is what I plan on doing. Ben

    Setting Up RO/DI???

I ended up mounting it to the outside of the sink. Man, this thing produces a lot of waste water, it's a good thing I don't pay the water bill. Right now I'm hydrating the membrane through 10-12 gallons of filtered water. After that, 60 gallons per day of RO/DI water. Gotta love it. By the...

    Setting Up RO/DI???

Is there anything I should know that isn't in the directions? I got the Kent Maxxima HI-S 60. I was planning on just setting it on my washing mashine, with the unit being fed via my utility sink nozzle. Then the waste will go right down the sink drain, and the filtered water will go into a 32...
