Wet/Dry filters work great. I would put them in the top 3 of filtration methods. The only time they become a problem is when people do not maintain them properly......

Yeah, Texas Parks & Wildlife has a lot of info about it. Stillhouse Hollow Resevoir is about 20 miles from where I live and they have a huge problem with it.......

Most algae problems on rocks are caused by not blowing detritus off of the rocks regularly...... Old bulbs and anything under a 6500k bulb will cause algae blooms......

I don't think your temp is getting too high.....like I said, my tank runs 84-85 during the day.

I have approx. 140x turnover in my 54 gallon bare bottom. (2 Seio 2600s & 2 Koralia 4s). Minimum for an sps tank should be around 60x turnover, in my opinion. Of course, it all depends on powerhead positioning.....
