Is there any way to speed up the flow through our bulkhead fittings?

Just how many 90 degree elbows are there? I used 2 45 degree bends to spread out the curve and it really seemed to help.

    protien skimmer chocie

I love my seaclone. It's silent, and super effective. It pulls out all kinds of junk. I'd say get the seaclone 150. I've got the 100 on my 40, but wouldn't put it on anything larger than a 55.

    Tang compatibility...

Thanks. Right now they are both in quarintine but seem to get along fine as long as the yellow tang doesn't get to close, then it's just a little rear fin rubbing. The purple tang as a mild case of hlle, but I'm hoping it heals in a few weeks. I picked him up from the lfs for $25, a deal I...

    How long for a Berlin

Just got a berlin turbo skimmer today. I hooked it up in the tub to rinse it out, (and figure it out), but couldn't event get a cyclone to form. I know it takes a week or so for foam to generate (yes I know it won't produce skimate in a bathtub), but I should at least get a cyclone of...

    Help!!!!!!!!!!!

3" can be ok with a light bioload and good skimmer. I don't know what kind of bio load sharks produce, but if they are like any other aggressive fish, they are messy and in-efficient eaters; which makes for a heavy bio load. A good skimmer can make up for the lack of a deeper sand bed (more...

    Help!!!!!!!!!!!

they were off the scale until I stopped messing with it. I left the tank alone for a few weeks, cut back on the feeding and they went down to almost nothing. I really think it was the"diet" I put them on that reduced them the most. If he keeps doing water changes with toxic water, he'll get...

    Help!!!!!!!!!!!

Um, well the lobster probraly died because of a ph fluctuation. Since you are using tap water, I would expect everything to die at this point. There are so many chemicals in tap water, you just never know what your getting when you turn the faucet. What you could do is run to Jewel or...

    Help!!!!!!!!!!!

I would definatly not do a water change that big. Nitrates won't kill them just make them a little stupid. I would be more concerned with the amonia. When you flushed out your wet/dry, you probraly killed some very important bacteria. Tangs are usually the first to die due to toxic water...
