    Project 300 is underway!!!

Then the room really started to take shape once I framed the first wall and added some drywall.

    Project 300 is underway!!!

The stand is built almost entirely of 2x4's. This picture gives a little better idea of how it's built, but at this time, it was still awaiting cripples to be laminated to the outside of all the vertical 2x4's.

    Project 300 is underway!!!

I started the construction by building the skeleton for the stand:

    Project 300 is underway!!!

Here is a shot of the tank laying on its back in my garage awaiting a cleaning. For as dirty as the tank appears in the picture, there are almost no scratches and no signs of deflection.

    Project 300 is underway!!!

the first part of the project was to create a temporary living space for the livestock. So I set up a pair of 100g Rubbermaid stock tanks to hold all 400 lbs. of LR, all of the coral (mixed; and some of the colonies are the size of a serving plate!), and several large tangs (Yellow, Purple...

    Project 300 is underway!!!

This is the first of many posts in which I will repost the photos that were lost in the message board upgrade. This is where the tank was set up. That column became one corner of the tank room and the tank is viewable on the left side and the front pane.

    Switching to External Pump

I don't know the specifics of why the Japanese Iwaki costs more than the American, but I can tell you from experience that the Japanese motored Iwakis run quieter and last longer than the American motored pumps. I currently have an Iwaki MD70RLT running my closed loop and a MD55RLT running my...

    Drunk game

Has anyone played the Hangover game with the submarine in the stomach yet? It kinda reminds me of "Innerspace" from the late 80's.

    Project 300 is underway!!!

The Multicolor Angel is becoming less and less shy, but it's still very difficult for me to get a good pic of this fish without it darting back into the rocks. This fish has been a model citizen since its introduction into the tank (it's only been a few days though), and I have yet to see it...

    Will angels eat my polyps?

The Bi-Color may or may not be reef safe. Some people have had these fish in their reefs where they behaved as model citizens, while others have had Bi-Colors pick at every coral in their tank. Same goes for the Emperor, though they have a slightly more non-reef safe reputation.

    My 300Gal In Wall

Nice! I like how you decorated the wall on the display side. Your Moorish Idol is beautiful. How old is it?

    Project 300 is underway!!!

Sometime soon I'll repost the pics that are no longer around so that the whole project is documented.

    Project 300 is underway!!!

And today, I was able to add a fish that I've been longing after for a long time: a Centropyge multicolor. This fish has been REALLY shy so far, but snuck out long enough for me to snap a pic of it's rear end. Hopefully I'll come up with some better pics of this fish in the days ahead.

    Project 300 is underway!!!

When I added the clean up crew a few weeks ago, I also added a few neon gobies. Here's a couple of pics of one of them sitting in my hydnophora:

    Project 300 is underway!!!

My wife and I did some remodeling work to the family room (where the tank is) this past weekend and I'm now finally able to say that the project is finished! Here are some pics of the front of the tank and the fishroom entrance and side window:

    ozone mg. versus mv.

Does your ozone generator have any adjustability? That's the only way I know how to operate a 200Mg/hr ozone generator at less than full capacity. If not, the only way to control the amount of ozone that gets injected into your aquarium is to set the ORP controller at the desired point...

    MH Mounting

I don't think there would be much difference either way. The light pretty much gets cast over a square area.
