    My new DIY project

Wow! Inline probes and everything! I just wish the picture was a little larger so that it was easier to read.

    Lighting for a 150Gallon

MH is so cheap and easy to come by these days that it's hard not to recommend. 3 retrofitted MH lights at a higher Kelvin rating (13,000K+) w/o actinics would cost about as much as a fluorescent lighting kit, use about the same amount of electricity (maybe slightly more), and put out about the...

How many moonlight led's should I use on my 40High?

10 would be too many. The 3-4 recommendation made by shoimen seems reasonable. I had 2 LEDs over my 29g and 4 LEDs over my 65g when those tanks were set up and was happy with the amount of light. I've always had them mounted about 6-8" above the water, but aimed into a reflector. The...

    Hole = piping?

Is the hole 1" in diameter, or is there a bulkhead in the hole that can handle 1" plumbing? I ask this because a 1" hole is awfully small. A 1" Sch. 40 bulkhead requires a 1-3/4" hole, and even a 1/2" bulkhead requires a 1-1/8" hole (per Savko's recommendations for their Sch. 40 bulkheads).

    Project 300 is underway!!!

Well, I've experienced the first problem, setback, or whatever you want to call it with this tank. Last night, I came home from work to find a little bit of water sitting on the fishroom floor. It turns out that the sump cracked in the area around the Kent float valve and water was weeping out...

    Water Flow

That doesn't sound like too much flow at all. What is your substrate in this tank? In my experience, the Tunze Streams are awfully good at kicking up sand if they're not properly placed. By the way, the Tunze magnets are well worth the money. I've got a pair of them holding up a Wavebox...

    hose clams

Definately try a smaller diameter hose. And try to find some of the plastic hose clamps. They don't hold as well as the metal ones, but still do a decent job of providing security in case the hose were to slide off the barbs.

Anyone know what an empty 180 gallon or 210 weighs?

All Glass Aquariums lists their 180 at 338 lbs. Their 210 isn't listed, but is probably near 400 lbs. Like Bang Guy mentioned, an acrylic tank is much lighter. I was able to manuver my 300g acrylic tank (about 200 lbs.) by myself (using a hand truck and saw horses).

    Suction cups lost their suction

I no longer use suction cups, because I was never able to get them to work properly after 8-12 months. They just seem to degrade in saltwater. The simple fix is to buy more suction cups and change them out every year. A better long-term solution is to buy a cheap aquarium cleaning magnet and...

    Tank help

It's likely that detritus got kicked up when you were moving rocks around and started to break down when out in the open, causing the algae blooms.

I NEED SERIOUS IMPUT!!!! 125g tank/ with stand used for $700

If the tank is built of acrylic, which it appears to be, the scratch can be removed (as long as it's not too deep).

    buying new tank

I would encourage you to reconsider the 36" height. That's awfully tall for working in a tank, and it's likely that you wouldn't be able to reach the back at 24" or 30" width. Plus, there is a good chance that 3/4" acrylic will bow on a 36" tall tank.

    AGA Tank

There are 1000's of AGA tanks set up all over the world with tempered & drilled bottom panes (drilled prior to being tempered). As long as the drilling was completed before the glass was drilled, that is nothing to worry about. $196 is a pretty darn good price for a 90g Megaflow, though you'll...

I NEED SERIOUS IMPUT!!!! 125g tank/ with stand used for $700

There's better deals to be had out there. Most used 125g tank/stand deals I've seen go for less than $500 and include more than a tank and stand. This tank appears to be acrylic, and the stand looks decent, but I would still shop around some to find a better deal.
