    Phosban Reactor 150

Just be careful using Phosban-type medias with corals. When I first introduced this media to my tank in a Phosban Reactor 150, the PO4 level dropped so fast that all of the SPS I had in the tank turned a very light shade of brown (and most of them STN'd soon after).

    skimmer wet-neck??

From what I know, a wet neck is basically a stream of water that trickles from the top of the skimmer down to help prevent sludge from building up in the skimmer and making it easier for the foam to reach the collection cup. I know that Deltec and RK2 Systems sell optional self-cleaning heads...

    300g Mixed Reef Video

The return pump is a Little Giant that pushes about 1000gph split between two 1" Sea Swirls. The closed loop in a Iwaki MD70RLT pushing through two eductors (one at each end). And the wave action is created by a Tunze Wavebox.

    300g Mixed Reef Video

Inspired by Skirrby's hip hop Cleaner Shrimp (https://www.saltwaterfish.com/vb/show....php?t=164108), here is a link to a video I created of my 300g mixed reef: Reef Video

    turboflotor 1000 sump depth??

I have a Turboflotor 1000, but I only ran it for a few weeks on a temporary setup, so I only can only base my advice on that short experience. I had the skimmer in 6" of water skimming a 100g temporary setup. The skimmer worked incredibly well for the short time I had it set up and I had to...

Leveling a fish tank on stand

Just to reiterate what everyone else has said, level the stand and not the tank. Sanding works well, but I would be hesitant to go that route, especially if you plan to set the tank up somewhere else in the future. The chances are high that the tank would again be unlevel in the next...

    Algae Scraper Question

Like Reefnut mentioned, credit cards work great. I just set up my first acrylic tank about a month ago and am already learning how to battle coralline. I use the Algae Free Tiger Shark magnet that keeps it from building up, but if I go without cleaning for a few days, small specks of corallin...

    Need more MH help!

MH can be very finicky lighting. Sorry to hear of your problems. What ballasts are you using? Are they new or used? What bulbs are you using? New or used? Does the ceramic around the Mogul socket look damaged at all? Are the wires connected by wire nuts anywhere, or is all of the wiring done...

Squidd - tank spec follow up

A 2" drain will comfortably allow about 2200gph to flow through it. The calculator I used to come up with that figure also recommended a linear overflow length of 33 inches to handle 2200gph. Figure that a 2" Durso standpipe is going to take up a lot of room, so an overflow box of 8" wide is...

    14,15,or 20k?

If you like the blue of the 20,000K bulbs, then by all means go for them! Otherwise, the mid-teen bulbs are a nice compromise between PAR values and color.

    MH Price

That's a great deal, and any bulb 10,000K and over makes SPS look the best (though they won't grow as fast as they would under a 6,500K bulb for instance).
