I really feel bad for those who do not have a good LFS.Mine is family run and owned,and i can honestly say,he has the customers best interest in mind.Even though he's not a personal friend,he relies on me and those of us who go to him to let others know about his nice little store...

I never oredered online from anywhere,but i was always told they all ship in hypo conditions for parasite control..I also know of LFS's that keep all there holding tanks at hypo levels.I also read somewhere that our fish actually are more comfortable in lower SG's than we think..I have kept mine...

I honestly never tested my LFS's water,but like flower said trates of 80 for fo systems are really almost normal levels.Mine hover the 40-50 range..I have heard of fo systems with them well into the 100's with no affects to the fish....So i guess what i'm saying is,it may not have been all that...

I did it about a year and a half ago...No sign of it since then.I kept my SG at 1.008 for 32 days(in a QT,DT was fallow for 9 weeks),I honestly believe its gone.I have added 3 fish since,with no reaccurances.I agree with Beth,that people are too quick to blame the process rather than...

Well i wish you luck, by the sounds of your stock,you must have a decent sized DT which is going to be a ton of WC's to bring your SG down,and then bringing it back up will be alot of work too...

Just curious,but why didn't you take the fish out and put them in the hospital and leave the inverts and stuff in?May have been easier to do hypo on a smaller QT tank rather than a larger DT.At least it was in my case.

I wouldn't put more than 3 or 4 max fish in a 40,JMO

If you have one clown in the tank,he will more than likely pick on the new clown to death.They may pair up if you get a bigger one,but its not a given.A royal gramma and yellow tail can be added with no problems.What size tank?
