Why don't you do some reading......temperatures would have to go well into the 90s for any of those levels to be affected. Oh, and please tell me how a 3 degree temperature change on a reef in the ocean during the day is any different than in my tank........

You guys are nuts........ I am not saying it is okay that it stay at 87 forever, but why would you ever keep a tropical fish in water below 80 degress? My tank is an SPS reef with several fish and inverts (snails and shrimp). The temp is around 82 overnight and 85 during the day. Also...

Definately be patient when cutting. I found out the hard way that you need to take your time when cutting through a thick Acro........

Since the tank is split, I would go with a #3 on one side and keep softies there. On the other side I would put a #4 and keep SPS on that side......
