    Refractometer help...

Most have ATC. Most of the refractometers sold in the hobby are called salt/brine refractometers. These are perfectly fine for the hobbiest. I would recommend buying calibration fluid to calibrate it rather than using distilled water. This will decrease the margin of error greatly. If you want...

mushroom in a blender, I'm going to prove or disprove it

Me and a friend already did this. We used a small food processor and ground up 30 shrooms (15 different colors). We dumped them in his tank and reduced the flow in the tank for 1 month. TYREE Corals

Steve Tyree is a person. If a coral develops a rare color morph, he slaps his name on it and it will cost an average of $80 for something the size of your thumbnail. I have several Tyree Limited Editions. They are worth the money to me.

    Can this be fragged?

You don't HAVE to get a part of the base. Back when I kept leathers, I would simply cut a piece of of the edge and use netting to secure it to a rock. I never had any die on me. They just take longer to attach this way. IME, it is a common myth that you have to get a piece of the base when...

    My bulbs were the problem

The color temperature of the bulbs is what is making your corals look better. Corals do not color up in 45 minutes. Some sps need blue light and actinics to show their color. Before I buy sps, I pull it out of the tank and hold it under a room light bulb. If it still shows good color, I will buy it.
