push it down in the water once and a while. or increase flow across it if possible. also IMO run your fuge light opposite of your DT lights. DT on during the day and refuge at night. your PH will stay higher doing this and you will export more nutrients from your water as well.

more live rock is the best filter IMO. that and increased water changes. but if you want equipment then yes canisters are pretty good.

Install a air stone on the air intake hose. it will still draw air in but will be much quieter.

can you define Perfect water tests a little better.?

To stop salt creep, change to a fresh water tank. No really like said before raise your water level or add some sort of a ramp from the filter to below the water surface, or changing to a canister type filter so the discharge is way under water.

shut your return pump and fill your sump by adding more water to your DT, when you reach the max fullness in your sump your safe with start your pump. and let it level out in your sump, if it drains your sump you can install a ball valve on the discharge side of the pump, or get a smaller pump...

Just a update on this tank, I shut it down do to being over loaded with livestock. here are a couple pictures of the NEW system. well over 500+ gallons. This entire build was hand built by me.

You need to add the total inches they will be if they grow to maximum size, not what size they are now. saltwater fish do not like overcrowding. maybe chromis you can get away with it. but it's not recommended IMO. my 500 gallon lagoon only has 7 fish and 3 of them will max at 4 inches each and...

If they become to over crowding (the sponge) just peal it off the rock.

They are harmless. they filter water. so they are beneficial
