    identify star please...

I've got 3012983012 of them in my tank. got 3 opinions so far, 1 says they are bad, 1 says they will only bother LPS's, 1 says they are great to have. I know NOTHING about stars. Thanks

how to convert from dsb to bare bottom

U need 2 people. 1 man the hose, 1 man the valve. 3 inch hose, put a ball valve on it. start a syphon, shut off the valve. Take the sand out in sections. Take a large enough section out that takes the water level down 40%. Top off with mixed water. do this a couple times over a week. Try not to...

    STN infection...

Update: Well, RTN hasent peeked it's ugly head out past the glue/Neosporin line. Obviously the glue(bandade patch) is still hanging on, so i'm not able to see underneath...but it dosnt appear to have continued up the branchs anymore.

    STN infection...

Yea, so today, I got thinking, Neosporin never worked well, unless you put a bandage over it(obviously this was because it keep the neosporin next to the skin, so it couldent get wiped away)...So how would I do that here? So I put some more on, then poured over the neosporin, superglue liquid...

    need help

Well, technically, depending on the depth…you could keep them under PC’s with little or no growth. VHO’s would be good. Metal Halides would be best. What size tank, what type of hood (if any), what’s your budget?

    STN infection...

So, I put a blobs of superglue above where the STN was creeping up and then globed some 'Neosporin' over the area...2 days later no additional creeping, and the area where the tissue was pealing, is now a little darker...not sure what that means. Plus, if it is caused by the mushroom, there is...

    150 from scratch

I may be stating the obvious, but a good sized sump/fuge. This way everything is hidden...it could be as simple as a 55g tank, with a few pieces of glass glued in with silicone. Also, 1 or more phos reactors...you could daisy chain them together to use different types of media. I have 3...

    STN infection...

I know there's tons of debate over RTN/STN...and still no documented causes or cures. Instead of the knee jerk reaction to just frag the piece...I’m going to try to do something else, see if it works, if the infection/whatever it is, gets worse, I’ll start sniping it up... I believe this...
