yeah don't use lava rock. It has some chemicals in it that arnt good for the aquarium. Try to get a calcium carbonate base rock. Thats what the fiji rock is. HTH

I want a clown fish. But i don't know about my yellowtail blue damsel. I would like a perc or ocellaris. Do you think it would work out??? Or would the Damsel be too aggressive??:confused:

Most tangs need a 75 or larger. They need alot of swimming space.

the base rock must have had calcium which the snail make into thier shells.

nitrates are the least harmful to the fish than the others but it can still hurt the fish. No 2.5 isnt very high

brown algae is usually silicates. Not phosphates. But might as well check the phosphates as well for diffent types of algae.

My yellow tail damsel i noticed has a whitespot by his gill. It looks like a piece of dead scale the spot isn't very big at all. I think i know what it is but i need some help on how to treat it and to identify it. I don't have a QT tank. This is the only fish i have and it's not a reef...
