what should my ph be at ??? right now it is at 8.0 but i don't have any live rock in yet.

I went to the LFS today. She said the sand I bought from lowes, would not work in my fish tank. It's playsand for little kids so there is'nt any additive in it. She said the ph might mess up. I sterilized the sand by baking it in the oven for a couple hours. I checked my ph and it was fine...
