yes it is normal to hardly see the amonia and have big spike in ni it depends how u are cycling as far as ph and others i wouldnot be to concerend right away give tank some time to stabilize , how big is tank how long has it been cycling ? how are u cycling ? what is in the tank ?

get a mag 9 the over flow will handle it with no problem run a T and then a ball valve over to your refugium then u can control the flow to that independantly of your tank to sump

tdraon, u would be better off drawing a sketch of what u are thinking and post it then get some feed back from that point

try another LFS, u should be able to purchase 24" wide blue/black background

nah nothing special just the shrimp molten it will happen form time to time , do read into it to much i would stay away from the anemones if it were me or if u get one make sure it is just one i have 2 now for the last 2 years and they are 18" and 12" across and just take up too much...

did they come as a mated pair ? or did they come from a school of clowns in one tank ? they might be mating up , the one that wiggles the most is being submissive and will become the male (smaller of the 2 ) watch them carefully make sure they are not fighting each other and i'm sure they will...

copperbands are generally reef safe, i have one in my 200 cleared up all my aptasia in about 1 day

I think u will find it much easer to shut off the pumps for 15 min and take the water out the top just my .02
