    Breeding cleaner shrimp behavior?

Hello everyone I have two cleaner shrimp, and lately they have begun to display some behaviors that have me concerned. We moved the 125 gal. FOWLR tank to our new home about three weeks ago, and I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it, but I thought I'd mention it in case it did. All...

"The March Of The Penguines" movie - did you see it?

I saw it on Thursday. I thought it was great too, although my husband was bored stiff. Unless there ae bombs going off and people being shot, his attention span can't stay focused... If you like documentaries about nature (like me), it is something that you will enjoy. I LOVED the baby...

How To Feed Prime Reef Frozen...

I have a small cup that I place a cube into, then I put vitamins on it. (Zoe, Zoecon, and Selcon, and occasionally a drop of Garlic Extreme) I let it soak for an hour or so. Then it's thawed and I break it up with a spoon or my finger, and I let it soak in the vitamins for a while longer. Then I...

Selling the house, and moving the fish... twice?

That is exactly what I was going to suggest....selling the fish back to the LFS. That way, when you finally get established in your new home, you can start again from scratch and not have to worry about killing any fish. The tanks could cycle again, and then you could begin restocking the tanks.

    Powder Blue in the future?

I have to admit, we just got the yellow this weekend and he's already pretty bold. He's a big boy too. He doesn't hide much at all, even when I am right in front of my tank. Normally I don't care for yellow tangs, but with his size he was pretty striking. He's very fat and healthy, and is a nice...

    Strawberry Hermit Crab

Hi all There is a huge strawberry hermit crab at my LFS that I am thinking of getting. I have searched here and I keep finding info about strawberry crabs, but those aren't the same as the huge hermit crab that I am debating bringing home. I have a 125 FOWLR tank. It is stocked with: 1 Juvi...

moving of fish, sand and live rock to a new tank help

I just moved a 125 gallon from one house to another. I didn't go to a bigger size, but I was concerned about disturbing the sand bed and killing my bacteria. I did it about the same way that the poster before me did...I bought several rubbermaid tubs and placed the sand in it (I would have used...

    Venting about LFS

I live in a relatively small town (about 100,000 people) that doesn't really have any LFS with a good selection of saltwater fish. I have been looking for a purple tang, but didn't really want to request that someone order one for me. So, I called a LFS that is about a half hour drive away from...

    Success!!!!!!!!!!!

In January, my husband and I set up a 125 FOWLR tank. It has done wonderfully, and I have made a point to keep it understocked, because I knew that at some point in the not-so-distant future we would have to break it down and move it. We only have a juvi Cortez angel, a Flame angel, two clowns...
