yeh you should get rid of those. I think they will kill clams. Make sure you have your clam attached to a rock under the sand at least.

Imo I would try a frag or 2 just to see if nothing nips at it.

The leather will probably get used to the hermits and then open up. My clown was annoying my toadstool because he wanted to host it. My leather never opened up for around 1 week then opened right up.

I just broke up some of that rock and boiled it. So I will not get anything I don't want.

Does anyone know how long macro algae can last in freshwater? When I put this rock in I really don't want this to start growing again.

I guess I just break up some rock I already have and dry it out. Have to dry it out b/c of all the pest anemones and macro algae. Just take a little bit longer to cycle.
