This may be a dumb question, but is there a certain way you are supposed to turn the bulbs with internal reflectors when you put them in the fixture? ...so that it pushes the light downward toward the aquarium. I guess what I'm asking is does one side face up?

How important are internal reflectors on VHO bulbs? I've seen some URI bulbs that are about $8 cheaper, but don't have the internal reflectors. What do you guys think?

I have also used crushed coral, for several years now. My water quality stays relatively good. My nitrates stay low too and I don't have much algae growth. The snails and hermit crabs may help with that. My water doesn't cloud up either. I do about a 20% water change each month.

Just curious to know if anyone has ever had a clown to make a popping noise with it's jaw. My Clarki is teritorial and when I approach the tank, he doesn't like it. I can hear him making a popping noise by shutting his mouth quickly. Has anyone else ever noticed this?

I usually do a 25% water change every month. Like I said earlier, I got lazy. I probably went 2 months before doing one. I know that couldn't be good for my tank. How often do you recommend doing a water change and how much water do you remove?

I would agree that you need to permanently attach the coral to something in your aquarium. Sometimes my fish like to move or bump off my smaller pieces of coral that are sitting unattached on ledges.

I currently have a 46 gallon bow tank with 190 watts of VHO lighting. I've tinkered with a few pieces of corals and anemonies, but I would like to get a few more. What carols and anemonies will my lighting allow me? Thanks.
