    swapping fishtanks

I just did this for a friend. We basically put the water and live rock in two 55 gallon drums and the live stock went into his QT tank. We put some live rock in the QT and a power head so there would be no problem with a new cycle. We put a power head and heater in with the rock and corals...

new member question on cost of specials

They are available to everyone. You have to meet the $79.00 minimum order to get the free shipping. Ive ordered from them 6 or 7 times and they have always shipped great critters even in cold weather. Ive never lost a critter yet from them.

    some new additions

I have close to $1000.00 into this system and I had all of the rock, lights, pumps and protein skimmer. Its the small stuff that is starting to add up. I may have to slow down a bit before the wife catches on to this.:D

AlohaMI, Dont worry about running your skimmer. Running it will not affect your cycle where you would notice it if at all.

I believe skimmers dont take ammonia out. I ran my skimmer during my cycle. I was also curing 170# of live rock then too.

    Algae

Yea the lfs guy I go to has been pretty good to me and hes the one who suggested me to do that. After you pull out the first run and let 48 hours go by check the phosphates and you will see the rocks leached some back out. Is the phosphate remover you got granular? That was the kind I used. Make...

Your test kit is probly bad. If the water smells Iam sure there should be some ammonia reading by now.

    Algae

Coraline algea is good for your tank. Phosphate remover will remove the food source of unwanted algeas. I used the phosephate remover when i first setup my 90 a couple of years ago with great success. When you use the phosphate remover keep in in for 48 hours then remove for 48 hours then put...

Great looking setup. How long has been up. I see you got a bit of cyno it looks like going on. If it is add some more current ,l cut back on the lighting and it should start to clear up in no time. Gret looking though.
