    HAIR ALGE!!!!!!!!!! HELP!!!!!!!!!

Can't help you with the test kit, as I have never used that one. But, I do wonder if using tap water may have caused your algae bloom, even though it is filtered it is not RODI. Only RODI filtration removes all the nutrients and minerals out of the water that usually lead to algae problems. The...

Help me find an easy greenish coral...

The top left is a green/purple Yuma Riccordia, care level fairly easy. The top right picture shows Neon Green Star Polyps on the bottom left of the picture, care level, easy. The bottom picture is a green/purple frogspawn, care is a little harder than the other two I listed but not unreasonable...

    salt accumulation outside tank

Salt residue does accumulate and is a constant source of work. You will need to keep after it with a damp cloth. It doesn't sound like from your description, that you have a leak. Pictures would help to determine better answer to your question. The top plastic trim piece is attached with...

    Live rock in cold water

Your rock is fine, the ocean does not remain one constant temperature year round, storm fronts and changes of seasons come with some temperature changes and as long as the rock did not remain in cold temperatures for an extended period of time, it will be fine. You may loose a little bit of...

    ich?

Just keep an eye on nemo, cuz ick an show up and then look like it's gone and then come back in full force. If it is ick, you might want to consider a UV Sterilizer to help combat the problem. If the fish remains stressed, the ick will get worse, but a UV Sterilizer will help to remove any free...

    HAIR ALGE!!!!!!!!!! HELP!!!!!!!!!

It could be a result of high phosphates. How much are you feeding? How many fish? what type of food? Do you have any pictures?

    Should I keep this fish?

Your talking about taking the fish back to the LFS. I would assume then, that you can catch it. If you can catch it, put it in your quaretene tank and watch is there and if medication is necessary you can administer safely. Many LFS don't offer warranties on Salt water livestock. But it's really...

How do send a piece of coral to someone.

+1 Meowzr, If your shipping within a certain distance USPS Express will be cheaper than UPS and Fed Ex. Alot of times UPS and Fed Ex have store fronts for shipping and if not you can find their main location and ship from there. If they are saying that they do not ship animals, I think they are...

Meowzr, that is the same exact heater that I have and I have mine fully submersed. I do not know what line/number three is regarding too. If you still have concerns, look for a 800 number and make a phone call to put your mind at ease. But I know that you have a submersable heater. Maybe, get a...

    Algae outbreak...

My 40g tank went through this when I started it (hair algae) and all my water perameters were all in line. I think new tanks go through phases and sometimes it just passes a few more snails couldn't hurt. What kind of water do you use?

Starting a 29G tank in the Future... Thoughts/Advice??

I think that you really need to consider what you want as an end result, because IMO it's hard to flip from fish only to fish with coral using the same components . I agree with "Flower" that there are some corals that will be able to go into a FO tank, but you will be very limited. For...
