Alot of LFS's are nortorius for having ich and very poor water quality. JMO that you also might have added to much livestock to fast. That also creates alot of stress. Sorry for your losses.

I use a Red Sea Calcium test kit. It is very easy to use and it cost me $11 and gives you 60 tests. I got it at the LFS so it could be cheaper online.

Why not just point a powerhead toward the surface if aggitation is what you are looking for?

Wow! That's 4 miles from my house and the wife works right there.

I have had mine 11 months and he is always out and about hunting pods. He by far has been the most beautiful thing in my reef. He is just a cruiser.
