i am using the SeaClone 100 on my 20 gallon and i love it... i have had no problems with it since i put it on the tank. you should see the stuff that it pulls out ;) well... thats my input on that, HTH
Nero- well, there are two meanings... in japanese, it means "black" but in the bible, it is a creature/monster that eats christians.... i found that out after i used this as my username for everything, hehe. i personally just think it sounds cool...
wow, i turned my lights off for a day and a half and what a difference! i have slowly been leaving them on for longer and longer and still only have minimal red cyano. its funny that this happened because my nitrates are at 0 ppm... maybe my phosphate is high or something, i should probably...
i dont know if you know this, but the blue linkias are pretty hard to keep. i would recommend either trading it for an orange linkia, or if you really wanted to try to keep it, do A LOT or research about how to take care of it. HTH :D

the tube on my feather duster is pretty soft... i think if the crab tried hard enough it could eat it... but the duster is pretty big (6 in long) so i think it would take a while for the crab to eat it. i havent seen the crab eating off it since yesterday so i think it might be fine :D...
hi, i just got a feather duster today and one of my emerald crabs was trying to eat the end of its tube (opposite end of feathers). i managed to scare the crab away, but i was wondering if i should worry about the duster and the crab getting into further confrontations... has anyone else had a...
does the "red slime" antibiotics also kill off hair algae? i have some red slime in my tank, but i dont want to kill off my emerald crabs' food by treating it...
thanks :D
i have 2 emeralds; they are great, lots of character. they mainly eat algae and POOP. i guess you could call them scavengers. mine are eating soooo much plant material that their color went from a light green color, to a dark jade green in about a month. they are my favorite invert in my tank :D...
I would also only recommend 2 fish. I have a 20 gallon tall and I have a perc clown and a firefish. they are both very cute and active fish. i think if you looked at the inverts you could get in a 20 gallon you will be more excited than about the fish... um, i mean you will like the inverts more...
no fish for at least 2 months... i would recommend a percula clown for a 20 gallon (i think tomato clowns get too big), and i would highly recommend not putting any damsels in at all (aggressive little buggars). oh yes, you will soon find out about the "tang police" if you plan on putting a...
most likly diatoms... they are perfectly normal, but you want to control them before they overgrow your tank... maybe use less light and use RODI water... they will eventually mellow out after your tank has cycled. but just letting you know, you are going way too fast. you shouldnt add any...
hmm... i have 0 nitrates, so im assuming its the phosphates... i just recently switched over to RODI water so i think that will help too. thanks for the tip/info :D
good god... i must look like a moron. anyways, im sure that it is "red slime algae" after reading a few posts. man, i was so excited too. is this algae harmful in any way? i kind of like it, besides the fact that i am cleaning it a lot.....
ahhhh!!!!!!!!!!! holy god! i came home from class today only to find that my entire sand bed is completly covered in coraline!!! it was fine this morning, but i guess in between the 8 hours i was gone the coraline fairy had a little visit... i have had my lights for only a week and a half (130wt...
give us some descriptions first...
water quality?
how long has the tank been set up for?
what are the inhabitants?
sand or crushed coral?
did you just stir up, or add new sand?
i think all of these will help get some good answers :)
