    Cured LR...really?

OK...kinda thought that might be it. Time to hit the LFSs and see what they have, been to one and the stuff looked like it didn't have that many goodies on it and it was ten dollars a pound there. I may just have to bite the bullet and be prepared for a big water change. Thanks Peace Mike

    Cured LR...really?

Hey, I've been looking at live rock(internet sources)lately and most say that it is already cured, but that when the rock gets to the destination it would have to be put in a 30 gal trash can with aged water and have the water changed a few times or go into the tank and half 1/2 of the tank...

    LR and LS how much?

Hey, I'm going to get the 72 gal. bow front was thinking about 150lbs of LR is this a situation where more could be better? Like maybe 200lbs. I can't find a guideline for the amount of LS/gal is there one, or do you just get enough for a 2-3 inch substrate? Just trying to get some kind of loose...

    Looking for tube sponges...maybe

Hi, New to all this, reading books and asking tons of questions. Pretty sure I'm getting a 72 gal bowfront, but thats about all at this point. Would like to set up a reef system heavy on inverts, corals and sponges. I've seen photos of tube sponges that look really cool but no one seems to be...

Hi, Wow! totally amazing, very inspirational. I'm at the reading and asking tons of questions stage. So the question is what is the yellow thing that is featured prominently in the fourth pic down(I think thats it) Looks like some kind of sponge maybe or an anemone. Your take is amazing, may...

    Tank Size

Hi again I've decided to go in between the 46 and 92 gal. bow fronts and get the 72 gal. I like the overflows for the filters. Seems like this will make maintaining things easier. I'm still thinking about the convict tang and flame angel I saw at the LFS, is a 72 gal. setup large enough for a...

    Went to LFS today

There was a display tank at the store with the rock so covered in various corals that the rock was no longer visible I don't think anything could've been added without it sitting on top of something else. I was told it was under standard filtration methods. It just seemed odd to me. Saw a very...

    Went to LFS today

Hi again and thanks for taking time to answer my previous question. Went to my LFS today and I think I'm really hooked....no pun intended. I found myself staring at a 90(92?)gallon bow front thinking "I can make that fit", I bought a book instead. Probably the wisest thing to do at this point...

    Hi

Hi, I'm new to this and in the gathering information phase. I live in NYC in a shared apt. and my tank would go in my bedroom which is also my living room, dinning room and massage studio so space is a big consideration. My main question right now is what is the smallest tank size I can get...
