    Durso Question

I looked on that site and cannot find anything specifically mentioning or showing the bulkhead NOT being on the bottom of the tank...that is why I asked the question

    Durso Question

If I get a glass tank that is not pre-drilled in the bottom, and, from what I have read on here, the bottom is not drillable due to being tempered glass, can i drill a hole in the back or side of the tank and still do a Durso standpipe? Obviously, it would drain out the lower back or side of...

    Jack's Aquarium - Sale

This is a good deal is it not? Jack's aquarium has a 75gal "All-Glass" aquarium on sale for $150, which INCLUDES the light/hood combo. I was pricing this at ***** and it was $160 just for the tank, another $160-170 for the hood/light. Opinions?? Thanks!

    Skimmer in sump question

Guess I forgot to mention that the reason I wonder how much of the skimmer needs to be submerged is because the 20gal long is not very tall...and from what I have seen in stores and online, skimmers are pretty tall...so I pretty much just want to know if the skimmer can be taller than the tank...

    Skimmer in sump question

If I am going to put my skimmer inside my sump, how much of the skimmer has to be "submerged"? I ask because I would like to use a 20-gal long as a sump for a 75g tank (long versus tall for more surface area for possible fuge). Also, would this be too small of a sump to accomodate a skimmer...

    Lighting for FOWLR tank

If I am doing a 75 gallon tank built "in the wall", where nobody will see the goings-on behind the tank, could I just use a "shoplight" flourescent light suspended from the ceiling for lighting purposes?? Thought that would save me a few bucks from buying a full hood. Would make my own...

    Opinions Please

I figured the tank/stand combo itself was almost worth it...i kinda figured I wouldn't want to use most of her equipment..the hood and powerheads is about it...but that tank/hood/stand combo would be close to a grand brand new wouldn't it? Thanks for the responses!!

    Opinions Please

I have a chance to purchase a 120 gallon setup from someone who advertised in the paper...want people to comment if they think it is a good deal. She wants $600 for it. There are 4 powerheads, no liverock, crushed coral for the bottom and undergravel filter. She only has two fish left (sold...

    Fish Tank Built Into Wall

That was my biggest concern, water getting on the drywall...I was thinking I could probably line it with something that is water resistent...or even paint the backside w/ some sort of water proof paint or whatever. Also, why else would I need to have access to the the tank from the front for...

    Where to get tank??

Anyone have any good websites to purchase a 75 gallon glass tank? I just cannot find a simple site that sells tanks w/o all the crap they want to sell w/ it. Is it usually just cheaper to buy at LFS? Thanks!

    Sump Question

I understand how an overflow that hangs onto the aquarium works, however, I don't quite understand the pre-drilled version. The holes are drilled on the bottom or back of the tank? Does the water flow over the internal overflow and then down through the holes? How do you "seal" the holes to...

    Fish Tank Built Into Wall

Hello, I have not yet purchased tank or supplies, am still in the planning stages. We will be finishing our basement (live in Ohio) soon and I plan on building a fish tank (probably 75 gallons) into the drywall. Half of the basement will be finished, half not. Just the front of the tank will...
