Ok, difficult question, I have Green Long Tentacle plate coral I just got it Sunday. I know the waste comes out of it's mouth but is it disgusting looking brown & stringy and it is floating all over my tank

My local seafood store has little neck clams and top neck clams. Can I use either one of those instead of the cherry stone clams for my tank to combat nitrates?
