    diatoms for sure...just part of the cycle process...limit your light and they will go away on their own..

    If it's a brand new tank there really isnt that much you can do, it's a natural cycle your tank goes through. Look at it this way, it's good news, your tank is headed in the right direction. If you want to limit them, just cut the lights and it will go away...they will go away with time...

    update.... Temp 79.7 Salinity 1.024 Ammonia 0ppm Nitrite .5ppm Nitrate 50 ppm No Ammonia spike yet from the new rock... The guy at the store said it was fully cured....how long should it take for the ammonia to spike?
