Does'nt the UV kill Bacteria which is nitrite?

I have a ro/di system but does not take the nitrites out.I have a UV light which I will be using when I make the saltwater.

I was checking my tap water with a test strip and my nitrites are high...I had called the water company and they told me that the water has no nitrites.I took a water sample to the LFS and my nitrites are high.What would you do?

Well thats where I got mine from. They did the right thing and sent me a new ballast.2 weeks and the compact ballst went.You hear that alot about those lights.The lights are not high quality....You get what you pay for. If I had to do it all over again I would save up 200 more and buy coral life...

I just ordered 2 mag 12's for my 210. I have some no frills brand pumps called Resun king 5's.They say they pump 1500gph..The impellers are starting to get bad on both and no one carries them. SO I went with 2 mag 12's which I will put a ball valve to adjust the flow on each.I was thinking about...

Your dumping the waste back into the tank???????Why? If it is filling up too fast that means you have to adjust the water flow or air intake.DONT DUMP THE WASTE INTO THE TANK!!!

Here are 3 pics of the etss skim.I used a bigger pump(1300gph) with the gate valve all the way open and I adjust the bubbles with a valve hooked up to the breather.This is about 12 hours worth of skimming...

Thats where I bought the fixture from.They are the Harbor Fright Tools of the aquarium industry.Meaning they have everything but the quality is just ok.I want to see if anyone had an Oddysea light fixture and put in a better bulb.I am curious how these Oddysea bulbs compare to a high quality one.
