Anyone out there with Cuban Hogs? Mine has always been a little bit of a scratcher, not all the time, but seems to like brushing his side on the sand. I don't see any lesions and havn't had ick in the tank recently. No other fish does this. Is this behavior typical for the species?

I'm pretty sure the emperor is not considered a "reef-safe" angelfish. The pygmy sized angels are better choices- flame-back, flame, bicolor, etc

I'm no expert but without seeing lesions, I doubt ich is the cause for multiple fish to suddenly crash like that. More likely a water quality issue. How old is the tank, what kind of water did you use, what are your readings(amm, -trate,-trite,ph,SG)? Doing a 30-40% water change as a crisis...
