    Awesome Frags from Michael1972

Thanks for the input Grabbit, I thought I had checked with the posting police and they told me saying good things here was okay. SWF.com doesn't have a trader feedback forum.

    Awesome Frags from Michael1972

I wanted to let everyone know about the great frags I got last weekend. Various mushrooms, zoanthids, button polyps, LPS, and leathers, etc. Everything was exceptionally healthy and fully opened within about one hour of putting them in my system. If you are near Jacksonville, NC and have frags...

what's the 1st thing you wish you had known

The first thing I wish I had known.....that I didn't know the first thing about saltwater setups. Research, research, research and patience is the quickest route to a healthier account balance, er, reef I mean.

    Need input on sump/fuge design

Tim I had originally figured around 22 inches so I think you are right on the money. Should I go 24 to plan on future pump upgrade? Also, what about the baffle and fuge wall size and placement? I've read some of your other posts and think I know roughly where to put them. I didn't account for...

Fitting a 55 gal sump into stand of existing 125 setup

Not yet, my weekend blew up on me...I'm still laying out the sump/fuge design so I can get to installing it this weekend with any luck. I'll keep you posted. I guess if you don't hear anything, than I'm probably very wet and very flat...

    Need input on sump/fuge design

In terms of layout...should the skimmer go into the intake section or the return section? There seems to be some debate on whether the water going to the fuge should be skimmed or not. As far as flow in my current setup, I'm going to have to make the best of what I've got to avoid divorce...

    Need input on sump/fuge design

Wow, duh, sorry, too long of a day... do the other things count toward flow or is it only the return pump?

    Need input on sump/fuge design

So, are you saying I should go 12x12 or larger? And what do you mean by SS? I'm guessing sump/skimmer... Do you think I should start looking at a larger overflow when it comes time to upgrade the pump?

Fitting a 55 gal sump into stand of existing 125 setup

blazehok68, I'm looking at the stand and the ends appear to be where the majority of the structural support for the tank is... Have you done this, or seen it done?

Fitting a 55 gal sump into stand of existing 125 setup

I have a 55 gallon sump that needs to go under an existing 125 setup. Has anyone attempted this with a tank that size? I've seen where people have braced the stand, removed the doors and bracing, installed the sump, re-installed the bracing and doors. I'm a little scared given the size of my...

    Need input on sump/fuge design

Turning Tim I'd love to run some numbers on the sump. As I said, I want to maximize the fuge, while leaving enough room for skimmer, return pump, fuge pump, etc. and allowing room for backflow.

    Need input on sump/fuge design

Thanks Tim. If all goes as planned I should be able to eek out a sizeable addition in total water volume. I want to plan the fuge as large as possible. The next challenge will be trying to figure out the best approach to getting the sump/fuge into the stand without totally draining the 125...

    Need input on sump/fuge design

With my current set-up the OF equalizes at a touch over 8 gallons. Is there any reason that would change if I leave my overflow and return line alone?
