i have had mine about a week as well. it just has gone from a brownish yellow to a almost bright yellow. my parameters are always good and all of its tenacles are out so i hope it is not taking a turn for the worse. But i am still wondering what causes or what are the main cuases of bleaching??

im wondering what bleaching is because my toadstool is turning a lot lighter. what is it? how does it happen? what corals does it affect? Thanks

i just purchased a toadstool leather and i now see long tenacles coming from the back of it. it is hard to tell if it is actually stemming from the toadstool or something directly behind it. please let me know if toadstools have very long hair-thin tenacles. long would equal about 10 - 12". Thanks

well i did some looking and finally found a web site that states that iodide will break down into beneficial iodine. also that iodide in the most dioavailable form of iodine. so i guess i now know the answer.

my real question is, is iodine different from iodide? if so what is iodide used for? i have corals that require iodine but currently i have a bottle Seacham's Reef Iodide. can i use that to supplement for my corals. i have one xenia frag and a toadstool. Thanks for any info.

that sun coral is some beauty, i have had my eye on some at my LFS. How can you tell they are in good condition? i have never seen them open when i go. I have the same zoo's they were my first coral. didn't come with a clam though.
