as some one pretty clever told me earlier this week.... get a funner atach it to a pipe that can reach to the bottom of your tank... pour the livesand in the funnel and aim the pipe where u need sand!!!

if its been dry for months it is no longer a LR... everything is dead on it u can just scrub off the dead stuff and place it in the tank as base rock... eventully it will become live but it will take time!

i also have the fluval filter... ive had it running for about a yr with out a skimmer!! i just set it up as it was labled on the box... and havent cleand it as of yet! seems ok and all my levels are just dandy! :-D
