Will my shrimp be alright without the light for afew days?

I also have no fish yet. However, I have been feeding the tank a pinch of Nutrafin Max Marine Complete Food once daily. Is this enough or should I feed more often. I have been hessitant to overfeed to avoid an ammonia spike.
