oh alright so then should i put hte carbon on teh top do you think? and the ceramic rings in the middle?

i am running a aqua clear hob filter on my 55g....in the directions it says the stack the media in the following order: bottom:sponge middle:carbon top:ceramic rings i was just wondering if it would make more sense to have the carbon on the bottom and the sponge more near the top of the filter?

that is a sweet list of fish man! i am not all that firmiliar with all those fish but as for the tang you should get some seaweed...it is very nutritious for them and it also i believe helps strenghten their immune system...it doesn't make a mess either....

well my lfs and there marine biologist said it is a large enough tank...some places online say it is too small of a tank but still many say it is large enough...i understand the rest of the tang police feel otherwise but this is what marine biologists are saying

bronco...they squirt?!?! i have tons of different color polyps all over my tank and have never seen anything to lead me to believe they are toxic...i have never actually heard anyone refer to them as toxic....

i currently have a 55g with a large powder blue tang a small clown and a cardinal fish...also a shrimp starfish and a few inverts...after a false alarm with ich we would like to add a couple more fish...does anyone have any suggestions for another large fish which we could add to the tank?

why not stick a heater in each tank? that is a minimal cost....

i don't know about stripping live rock...but i have heard that they are definately not reef safe...i think they eat polyps and corals and maybe inverts too??

i have a TON of xenia...where do you have the xenia in your tank? xenia doesn't really get nutrients from food rather from the light so if they are not getting enought like then just liek polyps they will stretch for light...i would say that maybe you should put them up towards the light...xenia...

does other live stock from this particular lfs usually die in yoru tank or is it only your shrimp?

i am dosing my g friends tank with kick ich...in the directions for kick ich it says to remove all activated carbon and absorbent media from filters...is this absolutely necessary? since taking out hte filter media i have noticed a very slight algae break out....should i lower the time in...

so it is possible for a fish to fight ich on its own? even without medicine?

i used instant ocean for six months then switched to tropic marin pro reef and have been amazed at the difference...maybe there is something other than the salt which is throwing things off??
