dont waste your time with the rios. if you want to run a submersible pump go with the mag drive. they can run a little hot, but in a big tank shouldnt be a problem. the mags will run forever, i used them on my 180 w/o anyproblems

i would go with a goby (watchman, clown, or firefish) if ya want a more active swimmer, a 6 or 4 line wrasse would be a good choice. or a blue or yellow tail damsel. clowns and some damsels get too large for a 12 gal.
