My QT keeps killing fish 6 chromis 1 clown

How much ammonia would it take to kill so many? The api kit after setting for an hour may be at .25 max but at the 5 minutes it was dead zero. Should I leave the lights on and try to set the alarm for a few hours to change 10 gallons out? It is only at 2 gallons now. I guess I could pull the...

My QT keeps killing fish 6 chromis 1 clown

Since there is only the blenny and the inverts in the main tank should I just at least put the clown in before he dies? I am making a fresh batch of water right now but it will be morning until it is done. The clown is making laps in the 29 and looks to be losing color fast.. this sucks. I...

    Another cycle question

I am having the same issue with my 150g with 220lbs of live rock. Most of the rock was never really out of water more than a few minutes and some was shipped but it was out from 5pm till 10 am but was wrapped really wet. It has been 4 weeks and not one hint of any spike. How do you test for...

Float switch and a Solenoid valve

They call it tds creep. From my understanding the first minutes of di have a higher amount of tds.

Float switch and a Solenoid valve

You run straight from the ro/di with no other safety? I thought that the little amount the float would let through at a time would let to much tds from ro/di. Filter guys recommend running 3-4 gallons at a time. I could use a dual switch setup and adjust for say 4 gallons from min to max...

Float switch and a Solenoid valve

Or another thought is to use the dual float switches I have and run it as a solenoid system and just use the float valve in the event the solenoid failed the float valve would shut off flow manually.

Float switch and a Solenoid valve

Here is my idea. Please tell me if it is safe enough. Running the ro/di to a float valve in the return portion of the sump set to approx 11" level. I would also then use the float switch and a solenoid at something like 12" that would close the solenoid in the event of a valve failure and the...

    iwaki md70rlt for return?

I looked into the bluline/pan pumps and the part #pw-200ps looks to be the same as the iwaki. The price difference is minimal between the pal and the iwaki though.

    iwaki md70rlt for return?

thanks for the responce. It looks like I will go with the Iwaki md70rlt. For the return plumbing should I run something like 1" or 1 1/2" out of the pump then bring that to the middle of the tank underneath then split off with a T to a 3/4 " return for both sides of the tank to keep flow equal?

    iwaki md70rlt for return?

Hello all, First post here but tons of searching. I have a 150g 72"x18"x27" perfecto with dual corner overflows that they rate them for 1200 gph combined. I am looking at the refugium 45 by aquatic design habitats and a Euro reef rs180. I am looking for an external pump that will work. The...
