    questions that need answering(again)

1.You dont "need" Live rock, Anemone, or Coral for either of those fish. Live rock is a definite plus because it helps with the filtration but most of all is the stuff that comes with the LR.....its not telling what you will get as a hitchhiker. If i had my was i would say that the Live Rock...

    Live Sand

well thats interesting....never heard of LS being dangerous. With mine i used a 50lb bag of LS and then some play sand. Very seriously doubt that the LS is dangerous. You can do with out it but it does make things a little easier. RULE NUMBER 1 NEVER LISTEN TO THE LFS. :D

    Brown algae

yeah good cleanup crew and decrease the time the lights are on. But with new tanks brown algae is to be expected.
  10. acez28

    can i do this?

Are you still cycling the tank? If you are just cut back the time the lights are one and eventually the brown algae will go away. Plus during the cycle the brown algae is expected. But putting the rock in a bucket wouldnt hurt anything just extra work.

well how small was the Blenny? If you bought the hermit as part of the cleanup crew then they cant be that big.....or is it that they blenny was that small. Me myself usually try to stay away from fish smaller than 1 inch.....they are hard to find and usually they are things in the tank that...

    Time/Money Commitment

You spend lots of money and time on the front end but after everything is established then its simple. A lot easier than a freshwater tank. I maybe spend 3-4 hours a month(guessing) doing actual maintenace. Cleaning the glass, doing top offs, cleaning the skimmer, feeding. All the rest of...

    Ich

it basically looks like sand stuck to the fish. It spreads quickly and the fish usually start rubbing on rocks.....dont know if it itches the fish or if its just irritating.

    blenny dead what happend

i doubt that a hermit of any kind would catch a Blenny. Even if the blenny was sleeping.....first touch he would dart off. First thing is did you acclimate him into the main tank. Other than that i dont know.....maybe he could have been stressed but i dunno. Usually when i put fish in...

    What fish for my 75

well the eel i wouldnt recommend....you have to have ur tank sealed pretty good because they can get out. A trigger would be cool as long as you got it smaller or the same size than the other fish but in a reef tank i wouldnt reccomend them. they will pick at the corals and eventually kill...

    tangs

if you ever had one you will see. they most of the time will swim the whole length of the tank continuously. Thats why most people say they need lots of room.
