Selling the works in Baltimore Area

I forgot, that it also has a 48" dual hood light system with blue coral lights and timer. I'll also throw in my Aquarium Center discount card. It's a store in Randallstown and the card still has quite a few purchases left on it. I think it get's you an extra %15 percent off purchases.

Selling the works in Baltimore Area

I can't ship, but for locals I have a good deal. I have a 72 gallon bowfront tank with stand in black, reef tank. Has a wet dry filtration system (bio-balls), Protein Skimmer (sits in the sump, can't remember the make). Large Mag-drive pump to run the filter. 2 smaller mag-drive pumps for...

    Protein skimmer question?

Thanks Elvis, at the recommedation of my LFS I put an air stone over the air intake valve. It shut it right up, and it's still working well. BTW, I wanted your username.

Sump Filter and Prevention of Overflow

I'm new at this myself, but I can try to help here since I have a similar filter. I like the balls as a filter media. They are easy to clean. My tank is reef ready, so there is a barrier that hides the intake and output pipes in the tank. This barrier is also a skimmer and is sealed off from the...

    Question for shark fans

Good point Tony about the costs of the sharks. If they were 500 dollars people would realize what a serious undertaking it is. When you think about it there are certain Triggers and puffers that cost hundreds of dollars. They are ussually only bought by people who are certain they can provide...

    Question for shark fans

This brings up an interesting debate. There has been a recent study that shows that fish do feel pain. It has caused quite a stir in the realms of the catch and release sport fishing hobby. I grew up on the Chesapeake Bay so i am not against fishing for certain species. Shark not being one of...

    Protein skimmer question?

Last night I just hooked up a Nautilus TE protein skimmer with a pondmaster 500gph pump running it. Ever since I set it up it has been making a gurgling sound, kinda like someone trying to get the last drop of a milkshake through a straw. Is this normal? Will it eventually stop?

    Question for shark fans

Mattie, an 18000 gallon pool is an incredible set-up, and you are obviously using it for a great purpose. You, yourself may be one of those conducting the research on these animals that I consider invaluable. One of the things that really set me off on this topic was another thread on here that...

Is this tank a good deal

It's a great deal. I have a 72 gallon bowfront with an Amiracle wet dry, a turbo te protein skimmer, a pondmaster 900gph pump to run the filter, a 500 gph to run the skimmer, 48" tubes, and a black stand. I paid over 1300 for the setup.

    need some help

As of this morning, readings are back at zero. The tank is still cloudy, but it seems to be cloudy from thousands of tiny bubbles. The protein skimmer is still making a gargling noise.

    need some help

Thanks for the info. The blenny also picks up the occassional flake that one of the Chromis miss. I also see him frequently eating from the sand bed. I don't know if anything has grown from the LS yet. This is a great site. I've gotten quite a bit of info here. It's a shame I didn't find it...

    need some help

I did a 20% water change 2 days ago. That helped bring the ammonia back to zero. Everything I've read says that you should see a substantial spike in the first week, especially with fish in the tank. The live sand advertises that it does an "instant" cycle, but I find that hard to believe. Maybe...

    Question for shark fans

I'm not posting this to ruffle feathers. I am a huge shark lover. I feel that next to humans they are the most magnificent creatures on the planet. I feel that alot of questions that we don't know the answer to lies in shark research, i.e cancer prevention. With that said, I really am against...

    need some help

I know I've jumped the gun, just trying to make the best of a bad situation. I don't think the cloudiness is a spike. The ammonia actually has gone down to between 0 and .25. Is the gurgling in the skimmer normal and will it go away?

    need some help

Just started a saltwater tank, and i know I have made some mistakes, but so far, thankfully, there has been no lose of life. I have a 72 gallon AGA reef ready tank, an Amiracle wet dry filter, and a Nautalis te skimmer. I set up my tank two weeks ago. I used 40 lbs of live sand, and 40lbs of...
