my house was tented a while back. i put plastic bags around the tank and sealed it off. also turned off my skimmer for a couple days to try and keep what was in the air from being used to filter my tank. everything made it but no light and no skimming for two days can be pretty risky.

I've used tap for the last 3 years with little negative impact.

did you stir up the sand bed? sometimes that can cause issues with the bacteria and lead to lower nitrate removal.

I am having the same thing mentioned in this thread after switching to 110 watt CFs after only having NO flourescent over my tank for 2.5 years. I was worried that it was my sand bed producing lots of nitrates but maybe it isn't so much of a big deal. I was planning on switching out my sand this...

ohh come on be realistic. it was causing massive harm to my tank and i didn't want to deal with it. it was a good way to release the anger after coming home to dead and dying corals. i've gotta say that i feel no remorse for that horrid little creature.

are you talking coral beauties specifically? I know flames can be paired fairly easily if you know what to look for. I'm not talking breeding yet either just looking to pair them. Anyone?

I'm looking for advice on pairing dwarf angels specifically the Coral Beauty. I have one now that still has a inch or two to grow and would like to pair her up. Has anyone done this before with any success? If so what worked and what didn't.

It very much depends on the species as sometimes heniochus, and copperbands can be kept in reef settings. They will however nip at corals from time to time. Other more agressive spiecies will go after corals until nothing is left. In general most of them will go after featherdust right away and...

i mean that i have kept butterflys in the past with success in a mixes species tank. there will be no coral or inverts(other than a clean up crew) so nipping wont be a problem

maroons fade once they get older. if it is a mature fish then that might be the issue.
