the tank is over 2 yrs old however, we just moved the whole tank in Jan of this year. We now have a 120 gal sump as well as 120 gal display. I have a prism pro skimmer. 4 circulation pumps plus an eheim filter (kept that for additional water flow, we are running that empty of filter media) plus...

    Green star polyp turning brown

I recently did a major clean up in my tank "(hair algae long enough to braid!) When I did this, I moved all the rock work and the corals. I have had my green star polyp for about 2 months, the problem is, my green star polyps are turning brown. How much flow and light do they need? They are...

    Overflow To Loud..Suggestions???

Wish I had read this post a few weeks ago....I just moved my 120 from one room to a new 120 in wall tank. The old tank is now my sump....HUGE job even to move it 20 feet! I would post a pic or two if I could figure it out....ok...I think I figured it out. The new location is in the wall and now...

So far nothing abnormal other than the rubbing. It's still lights off in the tank right now so she is sleeping. I feed every second day so I will check today if she eats.

If it's not ich...what could it be?

My blue hippo started rubbing herself against the rocks today. I have not added any new fish in several months so if what I understand to be true about ich...it shouldn't be ich. What could it be??? I recently purchased a new 120 gallon tank to create my new display and my old 120 gal display...

How much water do I need to save when I move my tank?

Thanks for the reply... The new sand is clean and in the tank with 120 gal of new salt water. Won't there be some dieoff if most of the water is new?? Some of the rock will go straight into the tank and the rest will go into the sump with the water from the existing tank...just wasn't sure if...

    what size sump?

We were thinking about that but isn't it better to have a fuge that is gravity fed back into your tank. Then none of your pods and whatever else happens in your sump will get sucked up through a pump and have a better survival rate. If I have my fuge in my sump, does it need to be divided so...
