This is what we have and our overflow is almost silent...no gurgling at all. It is just an air tube inserted in the overflow tube to minimize noise. Sorry pic is sideways..

Wish I had read this post a few weeks ago....I just moved my 120 from one room to a new 120 in wall tank. The old tank is now my sump....HUGE job even to move it 20 feet! I would post a pic or two if I could figure it out....ok...I think I figured it out. The new location is in the wall and now...

Thanks for the reply... The new sand is clean and in the tank with 120 gal of new salt water. Won't there be some dieoff if most of the water is new?? Some of the rock will go straight into the tank and the rest will go into the sump with the water from the existing tank...just wasn't sure if...

Hey there! Been a while since I posted so here is my situation. I have a 120 reef tank and just purchased another 120g tank. The new tank is an in wall tank and the 'old' tank will become my sump for the new one. Here is my problem...I don't know how much water I need to save to avoid a cycle...

We were thinking about that but isn't it better to have a fuge that is gravity fed back into your tank. Then none of your pods and whatever else happens in your sump will get sucked up through a pump and have a better survival rate. If I have my fuge in my sump, does it need to be divided so...
