    Radiata Lionfish

Lionfish do not try to intentionally sting other fish. For the most part they actually are very peaceful fish, as long as the other fish can't fit in their mouth they won't bother them. A volitan would be fine with a radiatta however you would need a large tank, a 5-6 foot long tank when they...

    swelled belly clown trigger

Also could be internal parasites, Baby Clown Triggers like already stated in this post do very poorly. What size tank do you have? A Clown Trigger will ultamately need a 150 gallon tank or larger and can be peaceful at first but become a you know what overnight. Yes they are cute when they're...

    Max fish for 55 reef

If it was me I'd go with smaller PEACEFUL fish, a small school or chromis, a couple perc or occ clowns, a royal grama, maybe a mandarin once the tank is established. The majority of the fish on your list are semi-aggressive which isnt technically a bad thing.. To me I just prefer "community"...

What is the most interesting fish?

Thats impossible to answer since everyone has their own opinions. To me, watching a group of clownfish (6-12) in a reef tank especially with either a few anemones or some kind of LPS such as a torch that they can host in is amazing.

    Reef Question

Reefer545 hit it dead on the money, exactly what I was thinking. Be careful next time you purchase anything. Make sure you ask questions before the employee even starts bagging it up! Ask Flow Rate. Light. Placement. and any other special properties.

    Return pump and plumbing question

If I were you I'd stick with the 12, especially if you plan on using 90's. As long as you put a ball valve somewhere on the return line you can adjust it to wherever you want. So if the flow rate is a little strong you can just turn the ball valve down and bam! no more problem. You do know that...

    Keep Getting Shocked!!!! Help

Actually I had my electrician here a few weeks ago and he checked my voltage and it was fine because I had another electrical issue. I actually did have a ground probe on the tank but I bought a cheap Brand and it ended up snapping so I threw it out. I actually just unplugged everything and...

    Keep Getting Shocked!!!! Help

Ha, yeah I'll have to do that the next time. The last pet store I worked at a co-worker said "Hey brett! do me a favor I'm doing an experiment... touch the floor with one hand and then put your hand in this saltwater tank..." So of course being stupid I did it and holy... you know what, It was...

    Newbie Canister Filter Questions

What are the particles from???? If you already have a sump system an extra filter would work but it’s probably unnecessary... I'm not exactly sure what you have for a filtration system, but you could always put a micron bag over your intake in the sump, this will remove tiny particles and only...

    Keep Getting Shocked!!!! Help

Today I installed my mag drive 2400 on my 210 gallon saltwater fish only tank. I'd used it for a while but the impeller broke and today I recieved the new one in the mail so I put the pump back on but now I keep getting shocked when I put my fingers in the tank. Its very strange, if I put just...

Help, my puffer has ich that won't go away after treatment of 'kick ich' plus cloudy

Kick Ick is a very poor choice in treating your fish with ick. For one, it only supposedly kills Ick in it's free-floating stage, and even when used isnt that effective. I have actually used this product and have found that it works to a very limited extent, basically you would have to use it...

    oceanic 140 aggressive tank

Hey, this is just my opinion after many years of study, but this thread isnt about nitrates its about this nice tank. If you don't agree with me start a new thread. BTW im curious, what do you think high nitrates do to fish then? BTW, no obviously the octopi died of old age, at a little over a...

    oceanic 140 aggressive tank

Listen, this was a laboratory test, it's not any worse then harvesting fish or invertebrates just so they can be killed to be disected for study, so don't get all offensive. And by the way, they're all still alive and showing no negative responses to this continual testing after more then 7...

    oceanic 140 aggressive tank

Can we see some pictures of the filtration? BTW, a lot of people have said things about the nitrates your going to get in this tank. In my opinion, nitrates are harmless to fish, they do not affect fish directly. although they do indirectly (i.e. hair algae) If it's invertebrates thats a whole...

    Volitans lion still wont eat

Nirates don't really affect fish, if anything they affect then indirectly (i.e. hair algae, cyanobacteria) I wouldn't worry about it.

    Volitans lion still wont eat

It took me a very long time to get my volitan off live (aprox. 6 months). Eventually what worked for me was the ghost shrimp. I would feed him a live one then a dead one and eventually he ate just dead ones, now he eats almost anything. I would def try the shrimp. I'm not sure where you live...

    Overflow ????

Well actually I work at a pet shop in the fish room, but I have absolutely no idea on drilling or building an overflow. My boss does have the drill bit pieces, but I'm not sure that I trust him lol...

    Overflow ????

Is there anyone who could talk me through exactly what to do? its a 210 tank so its 72"X 24" X 29". I'm sure I would need at least 2.

    Overflow ????

Yes, I bought it from a relative that wanted to get rid of it. What do you mean by "tempered"? And also, after it is drilled, you have to buy an overflow system correct?
