i had a wet dry sump fo 2 years and let me tell you, that shiet was a nightmare. I live in SO cal where rolling blackouts are common and you don't want your house to flood or your pump to run dry. i recommend using a canister filter with the surface skimmer attachment.

it really depends on your SFE.... some are really docile.... mine's really docile and doesn't attack my fish... but i've seen some that are pretty aggressive

i just received another 50 lbs of LR in addition to my 40 lbs fo my 55 gallon tank it was supposed to be precured i don't think it was though..... it smells so bad my dog won't even go into the patio where i'm curing it right now.... if i put in the 50 lbs of live rock in my tank... than that...

so liverock is good coz the bacteria.... bacteria breaks down the ammonia to nitrite then more bacteria break it down to nitrates... does having lots of liverock reduce nitrates though?
