    super aggressive clownfish tankmate

In my 20 gallon I have a super aggressive ocellaris clownfish with a yellow watchmen goby. So far the clown killed a firefish, beat up a diadema basslet so bad I had to remove him, it killed a purple reef chromis, and a six line wrasse. The goby isnt bothered only because he actually stands his...

SeaClone 100, it works for me!!!!

the tank has been set up since late june. It does have a low bio load, maybe 10 lbs of rock, few mushrooms, zoo colony, 6 button polyps, and a small clownfish. I am actually gonna go treat myself (with Christmas money) to a fish and coral colony. Maybe if the bioload goes up a little bit, it...

there is about a half a centimeter of foam at the top of the water level in the skimmer, not in the collection cup. After doing 1/8 turns, same amount of foam, just a little higher up, and not as many bubbles in the tank.

    good aquarium books

I'm looking for a very good, and thorough saltwater aquarium book. One that covers everything from fish to corals. The book shouldn't contain much tank set-up information. A little bit is fine, but the book should mostly talk about fish, corals, and other discussions about the tank itself. If...

    Brown Crushed Coral

More hermits would help. When my crushed coral gets a little dirty I just use my gravel vacuum to siphon it out.

    Sand vs. CC

i dont care what size tank you have, how much microfauna you have, how many snails and stars you have, it will never be enough to stop that sand bed from filling up with crap. when i vacuum my cc, i dont stir up much of anything, because it all gets siphoned out, thats the point. if i do lose...

    Sand vs. CC

the advantage of CC is u can get all the crap out with vacuuming it. With sand it just sits there untill it all leaches back into the system. You can have a reef system run a lot longer with properly maintained CC, than you could with a sand bed. Doesnt matter how much microfauna you ahve, in...
