that fish is the newest in the tank and he's been in there 2.5 years. I've never seen him harrassed! He's the dominant fish in the tank as far as I've ever seen. I'll isolate him though

added calcium to tank this am, phosphates are fine. My concern was really the high kh and nitrates. I will continue to address the nitrates with water changes, do you all think that will also bring the kh down? Also, thanks for your responses! I appreciate it!!!

I had Chaeto but lost my light a while back and didn't replace it yet. Come to think of it that's when the degradation seemed to begin. The Skimmer is doing well, I clean out about once a week.

I have 3 250 MH's and leave them on for 10 hours a day. From 11:15 to 9:15. Don't know if that is good or bad but it seems to work well in my tank.

nice tank, you can keep multiple firefish in your tank. With purples you should only have one I believe. I had 5 firefish in my tank, one made the leap out and perished, another perished in the tank, a third made it into the overflow and down into my sump where he now lives (can't catch him)...
