interesting...anyone else heard of this?

Ive got one and its very hardy. Its doing well under my 4x65 PC bulbs and medium flow. They are known as agressive corals with sweepers, but keeping them under low-med flow discourages sweeper extension. Mine has spread, very slowly though. Definately a fan!

Thats what I thought, but I bought a tube of silicone II from HD and it said not for use in aquariums, but it doesnt say if its because its toxic or not strong enough. My guess is the latter, but im just making sure!

Anyone know if Silicone is bad for aquariums? I bout a tube of silicone II today and it says not for use in aquariums on the back....is this true? Ive never heard of such a thing...

What do people use to secure baffles in a glass tank? Can i use regular silicone or is it bad?

FYI Phosphate test kits only test inorganic phosphate, but they dont test for the organics. Phosphate levels may read 0 in the midst of a cyano outbreak. Just so everyone knows (and everyone knows that I know) what to do in the face of a cyano outbreak: Phosphate and Nitrate levels contribute...

OK so even though we all know the best way to solve red slime is to attack the reasons for its growth (flow, nutrients, light) Has anyone seen any adverse effects to using Red Slime Algae remover? Anyone know if it harms any corals or inverts? :notsure:

Lighting has nothing to do with Cyano? Anyone else know if this is true? Phosphate and flow are two big issues....but i thought lighting was too. :notsure:

I am considering making my own acrylic sump/fuge. Has anyone attempted something like this? Ive made one out of a 10 gal before for one of my smaller tanks, but my 55 stand isnt wide enough for a 20 long, so im looking into making my own from scratch. Any tips on design and using acrylic? Any...

The outside temperature here has been in the 90s recently and my tank temperature is rising quite a bit during the day, sometimes to the mid 80s while im at work. (its a 37 gal with 110 w of PC). I have a fan on the tank that, when turned on, drives the temp down, but often makes it too low...
