    Algae Everywhere!

Hi, i had a huge hair algae problem. The way i solved it was by lots of water changes w/ RO water. My phosphates were out of control. I also purchase a ton on snails and crabs. I also cut way down on feeding, definately helps. I was kinda scared that my fish wouldn't be able to handle it...

    water movement

i once read an article that said, "once you think that you have enough water movement, double it." I don't how true this is but i'm pretty sure the more the merrier. I currently have a 46 bow FOWLR with two 1140 peguin p/h's, 1 in each corner pushing about 300 gph and then 2 mini p/h's in the...

    Hippo tangs? & lifespans?

if you were to get a small one you might be able to keep it for a while. I have a very small Sail fin Tang and he seems to be very happy in only a 46 gal bow front. I'll probably get rid of him when he gets to about 5 inches. He is also one of the more hardier tangs out there and will eat...

I've been to a bunch of the LFS's in the area and by far and away, Fintastic Fish is unmatchable in presentation and quality. I agree that their dry goods are a bit pricey, but overall i feel they are very competative w/ their LR, corals and fish. Oh, yeah, there only open though on thursdays...

    Sail Fin Tang

does anyone have any experience w/ this type of tang? I recently purchased one, a juvenile, less than 4 inches long, and the first couple of days he seemed to be doing great. Now all he likes to do is hang out in front of my powerhead. He also seems to be little more skiddish. Any ideas out...
