trying to switch from guppies to frozen foods with my fuzzy dwarf lion fish

Bought a fuzzy dwarf lion fish from my LFS about a month ago, put her in the 72 gallon tank. I was trying to feed her shrimp and squid like I do with my snowflake eel, nothing. Looked on line also talked to my LFS to get ideas and all pointed to freshwater guppies to start the transition. But...

    hitchhikers in sand ?

At first I saw just one, what looks like a baby tube worm. Having only 60 lbs of live sand (Hawaiian black) in a 72 gallon saltwater tank I took it out and put it to the side to add 40 more lbs of Hawaiian black. Two or three weeks later I now spot 13 what looks like baby tube worms. They remind...

    coralline algae

Just wondering but I have what "I" thought was red hair algae. I took pictures and went to my LFS to get a positive ID, I was told it looks like it could be coralline. LFS suggested to try to wipe it off the rocks, if it is Ez to wipe off it's red hair algae and that's all I got about that one...

    RO vs UF

Looking on the web I find RO filters waste about three times the amount to get the useable water needed, going through all this I came across UF filter. I can't find anything on the web about RO vs UF. By what I'm reading both are grate and do a very effective job. Will a UF filter do the job I...

my rubber band anemone and clown fish

I'm new to any kind of tank. After I bought the tank I had all this ideas, then I found out I have to wait 6 months to put corals or anemone. got on line heard about rubber bands being 25% faster for acclimating your clown fish to live anemone. I think I know who the female is going to be.
