    SCSInet's 180g Reef Build!

Talk about a cliffhanger. Have to wait an entire month to see pics of the tank with corals and fish in it. Been a long time since anyone bumped this thread so I thought I would. Hopefully the wedding went well :)

    Cowrie at night

I have 2 of these guys in my 200G tank. They are awesome. By far the best creature I have seen at eating hair algae. All I have is softies in my tank along with 3 BTA's and they have not bothered anything at all. They usually try to go around the corals.

Bought A Used 180 Gallon. Need Help.

Since you have time to spare I would recommend that you get your new stand completed and looking the way you want it before setting it into it's permanent location. Otherwise it will get harder to do later on the down the road. Once you get the stand to your liking I would get the tank...

    White Cloudy tank

I have had a similar problem in the past. I got to looking at how the water was moving where the cloudy water was at and I noticed that none of the cloudy stuff would ever get to the overflow so it could get down to the sump. (It just went around and around in circles) To resolve the issue I...

    New Tank Setup Suggestions

Welcome back to the hobby and welcome to the boards I definitely would have a sump or a refugium with a 75G. 1.5 - 2 lbs of Live Rock should be about right. Although density's vary. I myself go more for the idea of putting in as much as you can but still leave room for the fish to swim around...

    Tang Behavior

Thanks for all of the replies. Sounds like Hippo's definitely have some weird personalities. I have seen my come out and swim around a few more times so maybe that is a good sign. Definitely a beautiful fish.

My 1st Saltwater Tank 75 Gallons!!

Looks like you are off to a good start. There were a couple of points in your post which caught my attention. 1. You mentioned you were adding calcium blocks to raise the PH. Calcium should only be added to increase calcium levels. And even then, you need to test what the calcium level is...

    Tang Behavior

I am curious to see what experiences other folks have had with their Blue Hippo Tangs. Or any other tangs for that matter in regards to the fish hiding. I have a 200G tank. I have had an Orange Shoulder tang in there for a few months. When I put him in the tank he did hide for about a day or...

Looking real good. I had a diy project such as yours about a year ago before I upgraded. Was a lot of fun putting everything together.

    Just some updated pictures...

Looks like your fish are nice and happy. Out of curiosity, it looks like the pics are being taken with a flash? If so you might give it a try to not use the flash on the camera and use the lighting for the tank.
